Joe's Tug

Joe's Tug is a sunken 23m steel boat, which sunk (the first time) at a pier in Key West 1986. Afterwards it was lifted up, cleaned and destined to be sunken again farther away in the north - as an artificial reef. That was not what happened though - people stole the boat and try to escape with it, but enroute it sank - again.

Now it is the artificial reef it was destined to be. It can be found in about 20m depth. The bow and the stern of Joe's Tug are 10m apart, after being hit by a hurricane. The boat is easily accessible, lots of corals and fish found a new home here.

Visibility is usally very good at this diving spot, making it a very famous Key West diving spot.
